The owners of Las Margaritas, a corporate complex in Guatemala City, selected our team at Gensler New York to design a new tower that allowed for the expansion of the office area in the complex. The scope of this project included the study of different facade options that tie-up the “old with the new” with an emphasis of bringing a contemporary look into the mix. Additionally the redesign of the public spaces became an important simultaneous project component. With the limitation of having an underground parking lot that would restrict the amount and type of vegetation that could be used, the proposed solution included raised mounds of greenery that would contain more private spaces within the public areas.
